Sea socks done

I finished the sea socks. (Please ignore my super-white legs.)

Yarn: Society Socks, colorway #218, "Caribbean."

Pattern: Merino Lace Socks from Favorite Socks. I shortened the heel flap and picked up fewer stitches for the gussets, but I think they might still be a little big for my mom. Oh well, she'll like them anyway.

It's really hard to take pictures of your own feet!

Those are beautiful! Well done!

Thank you! I'm tempted to keep them for myself, but my mommy does deserve some nice socks.

How long did it take you to make them?

Fellmama said...

About three weeks--they were a really fast knit.

You know, I've always been a bit cautious with the variegated yarn, because sometimes it just comes out looking bizarre, but these socks look truly fab. How can you tell if the variegated yarn will look good or not?

It's sort of a crap shoot with the yarn, really. If you stick to yarns dyed in really close colors--like this one--they tend to look better, I think.
